INDIA-2022

India & Nepal Missions Trip Update at LWI on 26JUN22

Had an incredibly life-changing, grace-filled trip to India & Nepal.  Overall, it was 14 Flights thru 17 Cities in 24 Days and a miracle that not a single meeting was missed.  When I arrived, I was thinking that I would be ministering in about 8 meetings and ended up being 25 in total in 11 cities during the 22 days while in India & Nepal.  I’m not much to focus on numbers but because many prayed and sowed financially, I wanted to share the fruit of it.  Ministered to around 2400 people and approximate responses as follows: 200 for salvation, 1800 for Baptism in Spirit and tongues, and 1000 came forward for laying on of hands and individual prayer.  At least 15 confirmed healings occurred (mentioned below).  The trip ended with a great climax of having the opportunity to minister in my hometown, Agra, and 7 of my family members came to church for the first time and also heard my testimony for the first time and it happened to occur on Pentecost 💥 Sunday (05Jun22).  Been very humbled and extremely grateful for your prayers and for any seed you may have sown!!!

BAHUT SUKRIAH (MUCH THANKS)!

Here’s a brief summary below week-by-week.

WEEK 1 HIGHLIGHTS (3-minute read) & PICS (written 21May22):

Things are going extremely well and I attribute it to your prayers, it’s just been from glory to glory.  I’ve been here 7 days in India, have done 6 meetings all in different places (2 churches in North India, 2 churches in Central India, and 2 in the Red Light area of SW India).  They’ve been very fruitful as the harvest is so ripe.  Altogether have ministered to around 800 people; and for the altar calls, 90 responding to Salvation, 600 responding to Baptism in Spirit & speaking in tongues, and 400 who received prayer afterwards for individual needs, so the meetings can go up to 5-6 hours because the majority want individual prayer.  It is all very humbling and just very grateful to God.

First night was pretty eye-opening with 3 demon possessed ladies manifesting during the altar call, who were swinging, choking, throwing-up and all.  It was great to see one of the demon possessed ladies who was trying to choke herself earlier come forward again at the end of the meeting with a big smile.  Also had healings, a couple of ladies with spinal / back problems received healing and we didn’t give time for testimonies so it was just from the smaller meetings that we heard of those healings.  God has a great sense of humor, I had 15 pages of single-spaced printed out sermon notes (which had been condensed from 30 pages) and I accidentally left them on the plane upon arrival to India, I panicked at first but it was a great way for me to really stretch and rely on the Spirit instead of my notes, so it was wonderful to trust the flow of the Spirit without using any notes.  I usually have been sharing my testimony for 15 minutes, preaching for 45 minutes, and then the altar call with individual prayer can go for hours.  Mid-week I was fighting some insecurity whether I was really making any difference, and then I went to this church and the pastor tells me that a prophet of God had told him just a few weeks back that there would be a man coming from America to preach at his church, and he was so skeptical because he’s only ever had 2 guest ministers who were both from within India and he had no connections with anyone from America.  And it was a last-minute change of plans for me to even come to his church, so hearing that from him was just so reassuring.

Today (day 7) was the hardest of all days, going directly into the homes of those who are active in the red light prostitution area and those who are transgender and meeting with the moms and kids and seeing how they live first-hand in their homes and streets.  The kids in many cases don’t have both parents or come from homes with parents who have STDs, also many HIV cases as sex without a condom pays more. Yesterday & today ministered to around 40 boys and girls from a couple of the red light district areas and preached to them on the Holy Spirit and tongues and they were the easiest of all to help them get started praying in tongues as I led them all individually in it, there were 4 that I could not pray for to receive the Spirit and tongues (cause they got in trouble for having eaten a chicken dish earlier in the day that was meant for us guests to eat after the meeting, so they were severely disciplined for it and were in a state of deep mourning, it was funny just thinking of it). Many of them experienced the Presence of God very deeply as they were in tears and we embraced for quite some time with several of them.

There’s been great grace to endure the hot humid climate (it’s been over 100 and high humidity most days so I just got used to sweating perpetually).  I still need to increase my mosquito-moving faith. There’s been grace with my health and energy as I’ve been on 3-4 hours of sleep most days and eating the equivalent of about 1 full meal a day.  There’s been grace also with the travel, have now been to 8 of the 17 cities and completed 4 of the 14 flights in the first week.  Next week I’ll be ministering in North India and going to the red light areas of Kathmandu etc.  Then the 3rd week will be mainly Gospel meetings in the tribal villages of East India.  All the things I requested prayer for, I’m just so grateful for you because of the outcome.  Also very grateful that a couple of the Pastors want to come under the mentoring of Dr. Barclay.

Also, exactly as Pastor prayed over me, I’ve just had the most favor I’ve ever had in my life.  It was really humbling to have had my feet washed by the pastors in a couple of the places I’ve been to, which I’ve never had my feet washed before by another.  And every place I’ve been to, there’s been many more open doors in other churches by other pastors who attend the meetings so it’s just been wide open.  What really helps is that coming from a Brahmin priestly caste makes for a captive audience in India, understanding Hindi helps me to know when to correct my interpreter which I’ve had to do lol, and coming from America also makes for great favor cause they see how you’ve come from so far and so the places have usually been packed out.  I’m also grateful for God’s protection as I’ve been told of several ministers who have come from America and have been banned from ever ministering again in India or been under a non-bailable arrest. Thankfully I’ve had no fear at all during this trip.

Very grateful for you!!!

WEEK 2 HIGHLIGHTS (5-minute read) & PICS (written 28May22):

Things are still going extremely well and again I attribute it to your prayers and any praise reports here are simply given so you can see the fruit of your prayers.  I’ve just been very humbled and grateful for the grace of God throughout this entire trip so far.  Now I’ve been here in India & Nepal a full 14 days, and have been involved in 14 meetings, been to 12 of the 17 cities and completed 8 of the 14 flights in my itinerary.
Altogether in those 14 meetings, have ministered to around 1200 people; and for the altar calls, approx. 120 responding to Salvation, 950 responding to Baptism in Spirit & speaking in tongues, and 775 who received prayer afterwards for individual needs.

The timing and harvest is so ripe, in nearly every city I’ve been getting a handful more invitations by the other pastors I meet. Just today we had 3 meetings which were arranged fairly last-minute. And again exactly as Pastor prayed over me, that I would have the most favor I’ve ever had in my life, it’s been pretty incredible to witness that.  I’ve been seeing that as the other pastors become aware that I’m in town, they want to arrange more church meetings and can have a meeting in place sometimes within a 12-hour notice.  It certainly makes for great opportunities and I really have to pray/discern/prioritize my time as my schedule was already packed as it was and the many activities and travel can easily crowd out the greatest of priorities which is withdrawing for prayer.  Flying out nearly every couple of days keeps things real fast paced and I have to frequently purpose to keep relying on God’s grace and make prayer my utmost priority.  Its been such a delight to have been able to make great connections with 20 some Pastors from all over India thus far.

At the end of the first week while in the Red light districts of India, we had gone into several homes of those who are subject to that lifestyle.  One we went into reminded of us of “Rahab” in the Bible, who works over the prostitutes and exchanges the money with the pimps undercover and we got to pray and worship with her directly at the red light house.  It was really heartbreaking to see the homes and lifestyle of the women and children, and got nauseated several times restraining to not throw up (the movie Slumdog Millionaire gives a fairly raw perspective).  One evening, we had taken the kids from the Red light district out and showed them how to play Dodgeball for the first time and then had an open air church service at a local park.

This past week after leaving the Red light districts of India, I went to North India and met with several family members and mostly all of them received prayer and one of my cousins received an immediate healing in his hand that had been shaking uncontrollably for many years.  Then we had a great church meeting in a rural village 2 hours away.  After that, we traveled to Kathmandu, Nepal.  I had the opportunity to minister to several young people (mostly boys) who were from the Red light districts in Kathmandu (several of them I heard were in-and-out of jail).  Altogether relative to the Red light districts, I had a wonderful opportunity to minister and pray individually with those who came from 4 different Red light areas of India and Nepal.  And it was rewarding to visit the home and pray with the women and children who have been rescued from the Red light area.  While in Kathmandu, I did some sightseeing, and met my friend Bijay who leads Bible translation projects in the various Nepali languages. I visited their base and got to encourage and pray with them and seeing what they do first-hand was really amazing, it gave me a whole new appreciation for them after hearing their stories, as many of them don’t see their wives/children/families for months at a time because they live far away and they have committed themselves to being solely dedicated to the translation.  For example, a couple of the translators, to get to their family, it’s a 30-hour bus ride and a 2 day walk.  Last word on bible translation, I met a guy who said, “when you can communicate with somebody in a language not their mother tongue you speak to their head, but when you speak their mother tongue, you speak to the heart.”  We also went to this major temple in Kathmandu and gave the head monk inside the temple (in their “holy of holies”) written Bible verses and prayed over the monk, discreetly 🙂 (while they were supposedly trying to pray for us, lol). It left them a bit perplexed.

We’ve been witnessing healings from prayer, there was a boy who couldn’t talk all his life and started to say a word or two, another who couldn’t hear or speak really well began to hear better, another had jaw pain and began to laugh from being healed, not all of these were 100% healings per se, but several were a start of the recovery, coming progressively and we helped encourage them to stay in faith till they receive their complete healing.  Yesterday I did have a huge miracle, I had noticed that one of my bags was missing after I had left the airport and the policy is its “impossible” to go back in to the airport luggage area once you’ve gone outside, and there were like 4 different authorities we talked to who said there’s no way you can get back in, and we were all praying and kept persisting and nearly about to give up, when finally this one security guy let us through and we recovered the bag.  It definitely added to the adventure 🙂

There’s been continued grace with travel/climate/health/big-bugs/unusual toilets/crazy traffic, which I’m really grateful for your prayers.  There’s been grace to endure the heat and sweat and take multiple bucket showers (today the weather said feels like 111 with high humidity).  I realize partly why I don’t want to eat much is I don’t want to use the bathroom much with all the travels/meetings and bathrooms are not so great or easy to get to in some places.  First week I was eating about 1 meal a day, this past week I’m up to 2 a day.  Sleep, the first week was like 3-4 hours a night, now this second week it’s like 3-6.  The turning point in my night of 6 hours of sleep was when they had they ordered me this large burger for dinner and that knocked me out pretty good 🙂

Now I’m onto the final 3rd week and this will be the large gospel meetings in remote tribal areas all week and anticipating around 100 pastors to come to the meetings.  Believing for a great climax.  Thank you for your continued prayers.

Very grateful for you!!!

WEEK 3 HIGHLIGHTS (3-minute read) & PICS (written 03Jun22):

It’s been another very blessed week and I’m very grateful to God for His constant grace and for your prayers!

High level summary, by God’s grace alone, have ministered in 24 meetings the past 20 days in 10 different cities of India & Nepal.

Altogether in those 24 meetings, have ministered to around 2300 people and for altar calls, approximate figures of those responded:

  • 175 for Salvation
  • 1700 for Baptism in Spirit with tongues
  • 1000 came forward for laying on of hands and individual needs

(also had visited like a dozen homes for prayer and ministry)

It was a great privilege to have personally met and connected with 40 Pastors/Ministers throughout this trip and overall ministered before a total of 70 of them which is all so humbling.  Yesterday in a Pastors meeting, 25 of the 40 pastors responded to the altar call for prayer to receive the Baptism of Spirit with tongues.

Everywhere I went, I was humbled by the tremendous favor resulting in several newer opportunities in every city to speak in other churches in the future.

Around 15 confirmed healings from pain, deafness, mute, demon possession etc. There were a few times things were lost in translation and so we did our best to confirm with them multiple times.  And since we didn’t do testimonies at the end of service, the pastor said other testimonies will be trickling in.

Here’s a brief recap of this past week.  At the beginning of the 3rd week, we went to a ministry called Second Chance, which is basically a home for the dying.  They are rescued from just dying on the streets and brought to this place to make their last days a little bit easier.  Just one couple takes care of 50 people 24/7, they have to change diapers, feed them, watch over them continuously etc.  It’s such a humbling and truly incredible ministry.  I was so blessed to pray for each of them individually.

Then we went to the tribal area and had a Kids camp with around 230 kids and led them all to get filled with the Spirit. Also went to a Medical camp and prayed over those who attended and a Hindu couple got saved.  It was great to pray over those who came to the Medical camp first and then have them do their checkup so that we could confirm of any healings.

In the nighttime were the Gospel & Healing meetings in these tribal areas.  The meetings went from 8pm to midnight and then we would have dinner afterwards and a cold shower since we were drenched in sweat getting to bed like 2am every night.

A glorious outcome of those meetings was that we had 9 baptisms today on June 3 (and several more getting baptized Sunday from other villages).  If you see the picture below, it’s the same pond where the buffaloes bathe.  And taking baptism in India is a serious commitment because it could mean that you’ll be disowned by the family and/or lose social/economic status.  This place had not had open air Gospel meetings in 3 years and there were 540 pastors who died during COVID in this state, and so the Pastors were telling us how the meetings brought great increase and revival.

Thankful to have had great grace to endure the over 100-degree humid weather in open air meetings.  One day it was reported feels like 122 degrees.  It was truly miraculous that there were several events that happened before and after arriving in a certain place that if they had taken place while we were there, it would have canceled the meeting (e.g., cyclones before our arrival that had shutdown the airport, thunderstorms that shutdown the airport just when we landed, plane crash in Nepal after we left Nepal, etc.).  Thankfully I didn’t miss a single meeting and I made it through all 12 flights so far in the 20 days.

After seeing all the ministry first-hand, I can assure you that if you sowed seed, it was on very good ground and that it all went directly to the ministry.

I’ve completed 15 of the 17 cities and 12 of the 14 flights, so a couple more days before I head back to the USA and planning to attend my first church service in my hometown Agra this Pentecost Sunday 💥. YAY!

I did get to enjoy my favorite dessert, homemade Rabri (condensed milk cream and sugar), juicy mango that you just poke a hole and suck out all the pulp, and an unforgettable Indian head massage which included cracking my ears for the first time, for the full reel, click HERE.

John 4:38 – “I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.”

Very grateful for you!!!
